Research Area – Historical Injustice and Collective Trauma.

Rajat Mitra holds a PhD in Psychology, is a social entrepreneur and an Ashoka Fellow. While enrolled in Harvard’s program in refugee trauma, Rajat saw the way art and literature depict trauma in various societies, which further helped him to chisel and enrich the voice of the characters in the book.

During his thirty year career, he has worked with individuals suffering from severe emotional disturbances, those in prison for terrorism, and radicalized youth serving long sentences. For years he worked with law enforcement agencies and criminal justice systems to provide psychological support to victims and their families.

Rajat works with cases of violations of human rights. Ha has worked with survivors of mass violence, ethnic violence, and genocide. more recently he has worked alongside human rights defenders across Asia.

Rajat is currently associated with a radicalization program for youth. He lives in New Delhi, India, with his wife and daughter. The Infidel Next Door is his first book.

as a research fellow with the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Kentucky. After working with Phillips Petroleum Company and Marion Merrel Dow, he recently retired from the Procter & Gamble company where he worked as a senior scientist for past 24 years in the Life Science and Global Biotechnology divisions. His interests include philosophy, inter-religious dialogue, and studying the Hindu scriptures. He has previously authored a translation of the Purusha Suktam, a Hindu creation theme. He also co-wrote The New Bhagavad-Gita, The Easy Bhagavad-Gita, The Complete Bhagavad-Gita and SriShThi: The songs of creation from the Vedas.

Jayant Kalawar is the founder and director of Advaita Life Coaching, a practice that helps clients cultivate qualities to balance relationships, work and money through the wisdom of Non Dual Indian (Advaita) traditions and the insight of modern problem solving methods. Abhijit holds a Masters Degree in International Relations from the School of Political & Social Inquiry at Monash University, and is pursuing his PhD. He served as research assistant on several projects all under the aegis of the Centre For Muslim Minorities & Islam Policy Studies at Monash (2007-2010). He is a Programme Coordinator at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, and currently a Visiting Research Scholar at Sandia National Laboratories. His primary research is on limited wars and nuclear thresholds, but his interests include, military transformation, defence planning, procurement and offsets, infrastructure, governance and Historical Patterns of Conflict in Democracies.

Dr. Chandrakala Padia retired from Banaras Hindu University as senior most
Professor after serving the University for 44 years in different capacities: Professor
& Head, Department of Political Science; Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences;
Director, Centre for Women’s Studies and Development; and Director, Centre for
Integrated Rural Development. She is the recipient of several national and
international awards and fellowships, to name a few, United State Fellowship
Award for South Asian Women in University Administration; US Fulbright
Fellowship; Shastri Indo-Canadian Fellowship; Salzburg Fellowship; Indo-French
Fellowship; McMaster University Fellowship; ICSSR Fellowship; UGC Career
Award; D.P. Mukherjee Award of IIAS; International Rotary Award etc. She has
been a Visiting Professor to the Universities of Chicago, USA; Toronto, Canada;
McMaster, Canada; Calgary, Canada; Stockholm, Sweden etc. She has been
invited in the most prestigious lecture series such as Political Theory Series
Lectures of Divinity School, Chicago University, USA; University of Toronto’s
Prestigious Lectures Series on Law; McMaster University’s Prestigious Women’s
Studies Lectures Series on Gender etc. She was invited by ‘Voice of Dharma’,
California, USA to inaugurate the 4 th Annual Human Empowerment Conference on
‘Integral Humanism of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay’ at Los Angeles, USA and
Chaired a number of sessions in conferences both abroad and in India. She has

published and edited more than 11 books and 61 papers in National and
International Journals.

She has the honor of serving as the First Woman Vice Chancellor of MGS
University, Bikaner, Rajasthan, India and also as the First Woman Chairperson of
Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Niwas, Shimla. She has served in
different committees of the University Grants Commission, Indian Council of
Social Science Research and has been nominated by Govt. of India as Member of
Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE); Indian National Commission for
Cooperation with UNESCO (INCCU); Member of Jury to evaluate projects under
Indo-German Academic Partnership and to represent India in an International
Conference on ‘Women in Indian and Culture Philosophy’ at Pedagogical
University, Krakow, Poland; Member of Academic Councils in different
Universities; Member of ICCR, Governors’ Nominee for Selection of Vice
Chancellors etc.

She has been recognized as an accomplished academician whose work have
consistently proved the complex interface between Western Socio-Political
Thought and the Indian Intellectual Tradition. She has made seminal contribution
to the understanding of Indian Culture; and has dispelled many of the misgivings
and malicious misinterpretation by a section of self proclaimed intellectuals on
India’s rich cultural heritage and Philosophy.

Sneh Lata Tandon

Professor Sneh Lata Tandon is a former Professor of Social Work at the Univeristy of Delhi.  She was a visiting Professor at the Department of Social Welfare, School of Social Sciences, Seoul National University, Gwanak-gu, SEoul 151-150, South Korea.  She did her Ph.D. in Social Work in 1987 from Jamia MIllia Islamia, a Central University in Delhi, India.  She graduated in economics from the University of Delhi in 1966 and did M.A. Social Work (MSW) from the University of Delhi in 1968.  In 1981, she did a Certificate Course in Juvenile Care Service from the International Training Institute, Middle Head, Sydney, Australia.  Dr. Tandon has over 40 years of teaching, research and other professional experience in the fields of Criminology, Correctional Administration, Social Welfare Administration and other Social Welfare areas.  She has served in various academic institutions of India and has three books to her credit.

  

Koenraad Elst

Dr. Elst is a Flemish author and right wing Hindutva proponent. He has written multiple books on the
origins of Indo-European languages Koenraad Elst obtained his doctorate in Oriental Philology & History from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) in 1998.. Dr. Elst is presently affiliated to the Sanchi University of Buddhist and Indic Studies (SUBIS) and occasionally teaches at the Indus University Ahmedabad and the private Indology  Academy in Houston; and is Chairman of the Ram Swarup & Sita Ram Goel Memorial Fund, Delhi, dependent on the Indic Academy, Hyderabad.

He has authored a dozen peer-reviewed papers, co-authored several books, contributed to a dozen more, and authored 18 English and 8 Dutch books. The topics he writes about mainly concern divergent aspects of the Subcontinent’s interreligious situation, Indo-European studies, the fundamental questions of religious thought, democracy, and language policy in both the European Union and India.
